Art: Crystal Series
I started drawing crystals after a visit to Sedona, Arizona. At first, my goal was to see how much light I could create inside the stone. Study, and Guardian both portray this idea. I then became fascinated by how many images could be shown within the structure and still keep the integrity of the crystal's essence. In Crystal Chaukras there is a sun; moon; earth; stars for each of the seven chaukras of the human body; fractures of a rainbow, and, of course, the crystal itself. Heart of the Earth is pushing the limits, and Dolphin Dreams is almost stepping out of the crystal form and into a kind of mandala energy.
The peices I have chosen to show on this website are a representation of the entire body of work that occupied about three years of my life. Most of the art is repetitve or TMI (too many images!)
A decade later I took my crystal series to a new level and applied it to fabric. Bali Batiks are absolutely vibrant and perfect for bringing out the glow factor in crystals. See Fabric Art.
